Sui's Rebound Overshadowed by Declining DEX Activity
Sui's native token SUI has experienced a rebound in recent days, but its growth is overshadowed by declining decentralized exchange activity. Over the last 24 hours, the token rose by 1.4%, however, it has still declined by nearly 5% over the past week, making it one of the weakest-performing cryptocurrencies among the 20 largest digital assets.
The trading volume has increased sharply alongside the sell-off, with a 140% jump to $230 million in 24 hours, representing approximately 9% of Sui's circulating market capitalization. However, this growth is largely driven by selling pressure, as investors dump their holdings due to unfavorable conditions in the broader altcoin market.
SUI has now lost about 52% of its value since the beginning of 2026. Technical performance issues have not yet translated into widespread application development or sustained user activity on the network. Weak application revenue may discourage teams from building on Sui, as their products could struggle to become financially sustainable.
