Swiss Bitcoin Pay Halts Operations After Suspected Data Breach
Swiss Bitcoin Pay, a non-custodial bitcoin payment processor in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, has temporarily taken its servers offline after detecting a data breach.
The company suspects that a malicious user gained access to its internal systems and may have exposed customer email addresses, bitcoin addresses, IBANs, transaction histories, and hashed passwords.
Swiss Bitcoin Pay said it took this precautionary measure to investigate and secure the network while ensuring user funds remain safe.
The company has not disclosed how many accounts were affected or when the unauthorized access began but assured users that any amounts owed will be fully returned.
