Swiss Crypto Firm Pocket Bitcoin Exposes Data Breach Affecting 5,411 Customers
Pocket Bitcoin has revealed that its investigation into a security breach in August has uncovered two datasets containing personal and financial information of 5,411 customers.
The company found that while core databases, customer Bitcoin, and private keys were unaffected, the breach did expose sensitive data such as bank transaction records, communication records, names, addresses, and some IBAN numbers.
Pocket Bitcoin stated that it had identified two groups of affected users: one with 5,120 customers whose bank transaction records were exposed, and another group of 291 customers whose communication records were compromised.
