Switzerland Gets First IBM Quantum Computer in New Innovation Hub
A new quantum computing innovation center is being established in Switzerland by IBM and Lockheed Martin. The facility will be located at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre in Lugano, connected to ETH Zurich.
The centerpiece of this installation will be Switzerland's inaugural IBM Quantum System Two, featuring the IBM Quantum Nighthawk processor. This system will be powered by IBM's most sophisticated quantum chip currently available.
The installation is targeted for completion by the end of 2026, with cloud-based access to be provided earlier. Researchers and institutions will maintain access to IBM's cloud-based quantum computing infrastructure during this period.
