Symbiosis Bridge Paused After Exploit of Over 40 Billion Fake Bitcoins
The Symbiosis bridge has been paused after an exploit resulted in the minting of over 40 billion fake Bitcoin units.
According to a Blockaid report, attackers generated approximately $336,000 in proceeds from the attack, although Symbiosis disputes this figure as not being final.
The protocol is currently completing its accounting of the incident and has offered a 20% bounty for the return of stolen funds with a recovery window ending on September 13, 2026.
