Symbiosis Protocol Recovers 15 Bitcoin After BridgeV2 Attack
Symbiosis Protocol has recovered 15 Bitcoin after an attack on BridgeV2. The funds were at risk of being stolen due to a vulnerability in the smart contract. However, the team was able to quickly separate the funds and take control of them.
The attacker exploited the vulnerability to issue a large volume of synthetic syBTC tokens, which had a nominal value of billions of dollars. They also managed to swap about 4.39 WBTC worth roughly $336,000 via Uniswap v4.
Symbiosis is offering a reward of 20% of the amount to anyone who provides information that can help recover the remaining assets. The team has begun developing a compensation system and will soon publish the criteria for affected partners.
