Cross-chain liquidity protocol Symbiosis has announced that it has recovered 15 Bitcoin, worth approximately $1.1 million, following an exploit on its native Bitcoin bridge.

The attack saw the attacker mint 46.1 billion unbacked tokens but only manage to realize net proceeds of 4.3 Wrapped Bitcoin, worth around $336,000.

Symbiosis initially offered a 20% white-hat bounty for the return of the funds, but this deadline expired without a publicly disclosed agreement.

The protocol has since changed its approach and is now offering a 20% bounty to anyone who provides information that leads to further asset recovery.
