Symbiosis Recovers 15 BTC After Bitcoin Bridge Exploit
A major exploit hit cross-chain liquidity protocol Symbiosis on September 11, 2026. An attacker targeted its native Bitcoin Bridge and exploited a vulnerability at approximately 04:28 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
The bridge remains paused as of September 14, but Bitcoin swaps through partner routes on Chainflip and THORChain have been restored.
Symbiosis said it recovered around 15 BTC after the incident and stored it in a team-controlled multisig wallet. The protocol offered a 20% white-hat bounty to the attacker, which expired on September 13.
