TAC Blockchain Frozen for Over 10 Days After Massive Exploit
The TAC blockchain has been frozen for over 10 days after a massive exploit on August 22. The attack drained 28.6% of the network's supply, amounting to 2,985,651,403.40 TAC.
The attacker exploited a bug in the Cosmos EVM advisory that was patched on May 15 but not backported into releases until August 19. The flaw allowed an unchecked subtraction to wrap toward an enormous number close to 2^256.
TAC Foundation plans to replace the 1.26 billion-TAC shortfall from treasury reserves, while the treatment of 1.66 billion attacker-held TAC on BNB Chain remains unresolved.
