Take-Two Interactive Lists Tokenized Equity on Solana Ahead of GTA VI Launch
Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind Grand Theft Auto and NBA 2K, is entering the world of tokenized equity on the Solana blockchain. The company's $TTWO tokens will be listed on August 6, 2026, through Backpack Securities, allowing investors to buy a digital representation of the company's NASDAQ-listed shares.
Each $TTWO token is backed 1:1 by underlying TTWO stock and can be redeemed for real shares. This means that if the token trades at a discount to the stock price, an investor can buy the token, redeem it for shares, and pocket the difference.
The listing brings Take-Two's stock into the world of decentralized finance (DeFi), where traditional equity markets are closed by 4 p.m. Eastern. Solana, on the other hand, operates around the clock, allowing $TTWO tokens to be traded 24/7 and transferred wallet-to-wallet.
Backpack Securities has previously launched tokenized representations of SpaceX shares ($SPCX), which have seen over $1 billion in trading volume. The company's approach introduces self-custody into the equation, allowing investors to hold $TTWO tokens in their own wallets rather than a brokerage account they don't fully control.
