TapTools Abandons NFT Sale Amid Community Backlash
TapTools, the Cardano analytics platform, has abandoned its community NFT sale after users reacted angrily to its return. The company had shut down in June due to infrastructure and development costs, but announced a surprise comeback on September 2 with a 'Phase One' plan to bring the platform back online.
The backlash against TapTools was swift and intense, with Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, even getting involved. He shared a South Park parody of BP's repeated apologies for their environmental disasters.
TapTools had initially said it would refund participants in full if the sale was cancelled, which is exactly what happened. The company will now focus on rebuilding trust with users after the failed attempt to revive its platform.
