TaskUs Sued Over Coinbase Customer Data Protection Failures
A New York federal judge has trimmed claims from a suit alleging that TaskUs, a Coinbase vendor, failed to protect the personal information of Coinbase customers from a data compromise scheme.
The data breach involved bribery-fueled schemes by TaskUs employees, according to the allegations. The lawsuit claimed that TaskUs was responsible for protecting customer information, including account numbers and other sensitive details.
Judge has dismissed some of the claims, leaving others intact. The remaining claims will proceed in court. TaskUs is a Texas-based company providing customer service support for Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange.
