Telegram Rolls Out Native Cryptocurrency Wallet Gram Wallet to Over 1 Billion Users

Gram Wallet, Telegram's native non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet, is now available to some users on the messaging app. Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced the launch on August 31 in his Telegram channel.

The wallet will be rolled out to over 1 billion users over several weeks, according to Durov. The smart contract that supports Gram Wallet has been verified by validators on the TON blockchain, which means users won't need to migrate their wallets during future upgrades.

Gram Wallet is a key part of Telegram's plans to enable instant and fee-free transactions for cryptocurrencies. In July, Durov announced plans to integrate Gram Wallet with all Telegram apps, aiming to serve over 1 billion users.
