Telegram Unleashes Gram Wallet on One Billion Users
Telegram has begun rolling out its Gram Wallet to users, marking a significant expansion of crypto access. According to CEO Pavel Durov, the wallet's rollout started on August 31 for an initial group of users and will gradually expand over the coming weeks.
The Gram Wallet operates under self-custodial architecture, allowing each user to retain exclusive control over their private keys. This design aims to reduce entry friction into the Web3 ecosystem by integrating peer-to-peer payments and instant transfers without network fees inside chat conversations.
The wallet's technical documentation indicates that it supports native operations with the network's digital currency, as well as multiple complementary blockchains. The platform's user base has surpassed one billion monthly active users, and several industry analysts suggest that this could turn the rollout into the largest non-custodial wallet distribution recorded to date.
