Telegram's Gram Wallet Now Live for Early Users

Share

Telegram founder Pavel Durov has announced that the Gram wallet is now open to some users, marking an important step towards the network's ambitious plans to onboard over 1 billion users.

The in-app wallet is non-custodial, meaning users hold their own keys and are not reliant on a third-party service. This approach aims to enhance usability for non-custodial wallets, which have historically been plagued by migration issues during upgrades.

Durov has stated that the validators who approved the core smart contract will ensure future upgrades do not require cumbersome wallet migrations, effectively removing this burden from users' schedules.
