Tenev's Account Hacked: Robinhood CEO Promotes Fake Memecoin
Ryanair's CEO Vlad Tenev has become the latest victim of a high-profile hacking incident on microblogging platform X. His account was compromised, allowing attackers to promote a fake memecoin called Vladhood (VLAD), claiming it would be listed on Robinhood.
The hackers generated 650 ETH, valued at $1.2 million in proceeds from unsuspecting investors before Tenev recovered his account nearly 10 hours later.
Tenev confirmed that a postmortem is underway to understand the nature of the security breach and prevent future occurrences, but drew criticism for failing to address victims who lost funds as a result of the bogus post on his X account.
