TeraWulf, a prominent name in the cryptocurrency mining world, has made significant strides in its transformation from a Bitcoin miner to an AI infrastructure provider. The company's high-performance computing (HPC) leasing revenues increased by 52% in the second quarter, reaching $31.9 million and accounting for 71% of its total revenue.

The HPC leasing revenues outpaced traditional Bitcoin mining activities, which remained flat at $12.8 million compared to the previous quarter. To support this transformation, TeraWulf signed a massive deal with Anthropic for 401 MW of capacity at its Kentucky facility worth approximately $19 billion over 20 years.

The company has also expanded its capacity at the Lake Mariner campus to 102 MW and plans to commission new data halls by the end of September, which is expected to further increase leasing revenues. This strategic pivot provides a roadmap for other mining companies with declining profitability to shift their energy capacities towards AI projects.
