Tesla Holds Ground on Bitcoin Holdings Despite Market Volatility
Tesla, the electric vehicle manufacturer led by Elon Musk, has maintained its Bitcoin holdings unchanged for another quarter. The company reported no changes to its BTC stash in Q2 2026, extending a streak of uninterrupted corporate crypto holding.
In contrast to other major corporate holders, Tesla has stuck with its original strategy since entering the market in early 2021. At that time, it made a $1.5 billion purchase, one of the most influential corporate crypto investments ever announced. The company later sold 10% and then 75% of its remaining position during the 2022 bear market to strengthen its cash position.
Tesla's balance sheet still shows the same 11,509 BTC it has reported for years, despite significant volatility in the cryptocurrency markets. Meanwhile, SpaceX, another Musk-led entity that went public recently, made a small transfer of BTC, sparking some questions about its holdings.
