Tether CEO Shrugs Off Audit Criticism: 'I Honestly Don't Care'

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino dismissed criticism surrounding the company's first formal audit by KPMG, saying he 'honestly doesn't care.' The audit, which covered Tether International's 2025 financial statements, was met with skepticism due to its limited scope and the fact that only a single subsidiary was audited.

Ardoino pointed out that Tether has demonstrated its ability to handle large redemption requests in the past. In 2022, the company processed $7 billion of redemptions within 48 hours without suspending withdrawals, which is an impressive feat considering many traditional financial institutions would struggle to absorb such a large amount in a short time.

Tether has come under fire for not releasing the full audit report, with some critics questioning why only Tether International was audited. However, Ardoino noted that Tether International is the only entity that issues USDT (Tether's stablecoin).
