Tether Completes Comprehensive Audit, Increases Transparency
Tether has made significant strides in addressing long-standing concerns about its financial transparency and auditability.
The company announced that it has completed a comprehensive independent audit of its financial statements from KPMG US, receiving an 'unqualified audit opinion' for the year ending December 31, 2025. This is a major milestone, as Tether had previously been subject to criticism over its lack of transparent financial reporting.
The KPMG audit covers the balance sheet, income statement, statement of changes in equity, and cash flow statement, providing a more comprehensive view of Tether's financial health. The audited financial statements also include a physical, bar-by-bar count of its gold reserves, further increasing transparency.
