Tether, Fasanara Capital Unveil StableFund to Plug SME Financing Gap
Tether and Fasanara Capital have joined forces to launch StableFund, a private credit fund that aims to bridge the $5.7 trillion financing gap faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide.
The vehicle is anchored by $400 million in co-investment from both firms and seeks to raise up to $3 billion in additional third-party capital. The fund will operate in more than 60 countries, leveraging Tether's USDT infrastructure to settle cross-border credit transactions with greater speed and efficiency.
Fasanara Capital will act as the investment manager, deploying capital through its global fintech lending network in short-duration, asset-backed credit strategies. Tether will serve as co-sponsor, originator, and advisor, identifying financing opportunities linked to USDT and providing stablecoin settlement infrastructure.
The initiative responds to the growth of the private credit market, which has already exceeded $3 trillion and is projected to reach $5 trillion by 2029. Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, noted that the fund turns the company's origination network into a direct channel for capital to reach the communities that need it most.
