Tether, the issuer of the dollar-pegged stablecoin USDT, has posted an impressive $1.5 billion in operating profit for the second quarter. This significant revenue growth comes from interest income generated by U.S. Treasuries and repurchase agreements.

According to the company's financial data as of June 30, Tether's total assets stood at $187.75 billion, while its total liabilities were recorded at $183.64 billion. This leaves a substantial reserve buffer of approximately $4.11 billion.

In addition to its impressive profit margins, Tether also made notable moves in the gold market. The company bought an additional 14 tons of physical gold, increasing its overall holdings to more than 146 tons.
