Tether Lands First Full Audit with Unqualified Opinion from KPMG
Tether International S.A. de C.V., the issuer of the popular stablecoin USDT, has completed its first full financial statement audit by KPMG U.S.
The audit, which covered the year ended December 31, 2025, resulted in an unqualified opinion from KPMG, indicating that there were no reservations or exceptions to report.
This is a significant milestone for Tether and the crypto industry as a whole. An unqualified opinion demonstrates that KPMG has thoroughly examined the company's financial statements under US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and found them to be accurate and reliable.
The audited statements show that reserves exceed liabilities by $6.81 billion, which is likely to boost transparency and security for USDT holders and support crypto adoption, stablecoin trust, and market confidence.
