Tether Launches Cross-Border Lending Fund With Fasanara Capital
Tether, the company behind the USDT stablecoin, has partnered with London-based asset manager Fasanara Capital to launch a new private credit fund called StableFund. The fund will use USDT as settlement infrastructure for cross-border lending and target small and medium-sized businesses and consumer lending in over 60 countries.
The two firms are anchoring the fund with $400 million and plan to attract up to $3 billion from outside institutional investors. Fasanara will manage the fund and deploy capital through its network of fintech lenders, focusing on short-term, asset-backed loans.
Tether's role is to source USDT-linked financing opportunities and provide the stablecoin infrastructure needed to move money across borders. This includes converting between traditional currencies and digital dollars. USDT will act as the settlement layer, allowing the fund to operate on and off blockchain networks as needed.
