Tether Launches StableFund with Fasanara Capital
Tether, the stablecoin issuer, has launched a private credit fund called StableFund in partnership with alternative asset manager Fasanara Capital. The $400 million vehicle aims to originate short-duration, asset-backed loans to small- and medium-sized businesses linked to Tether's USDT cryptocurrency.
Fasanara Capital will serve as the investment manager for StableFund, targeting a total fund size of $3 billion through third-party institutional capital. Tether will act as the originator and advisor, managing stablecoin settlement for the fund.
The joint venture comes on the heels of increased regulatory clarity in the stablecoin space following the passage of the Genius Act in July 2025. This move marks a significant step towards mainstream adoption of cryptocurrency-backed lending strategies.
