Tether Partners with Nairobi Securities Exchange on Tokenized Securities
Tether and the Nairobi Securities Exchange have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore tokenized securities and blockchain-based market infrastructure in Kenya. This collaboration aims to provide fractional access to securities, instant settlement, and compliance with Kenyan regulations.
The agreement focuses on meeting regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering rules. The 2025 Virtual Asset Service Providers Act assigns oversight of tokenization to the Capital Markets Authority and stablecoin issuance to the Central Bank of Kenya.
