Tether Posts Record $1.5 Billion Profit in Q2 2026 Amid Volatility
Tether, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin USDT, reported a net operating profit of $1.5 billion in the second quarter of 2026.
The profit was driven by returns from Tether's U.S. Treasury and repurchase agreement portfolio.
The company maintained a strong reserve buffer, with excess reserves of $4.11 billion against liabilities of $183.64 billion.
Tether also expanded its physical gold holdings to more than 146 metric tons during the quarter, adding 14 metric tons of gold and bringing its bullion holdings to about $18.8 billion.
