Tether Posts Record Q2 Profits, Expands Gold Reserves
Tether's Q2 financials are out, and they're looking strong. The company reported net operating profits of approximately $1.5 billion during the second quarter of 2026, largely driven by returns from its US Treasury portfolio and repo operations.
The USDT supply rose to around $184.6 billion by the end of June, extending its share of the global stablecoin market to over 60%. Tether's reserve portfolio remains concentrated in high-quality liquid assets, with US government-backed securities forming the core of its holdings.
During the quarter, Tether reduced secured lending by about $2.4 billion and expanded its physical gold reserves by 14 tons to more than 146 tons. The company also disclosed adding over 30 million users globally during the period.
