Tether Q2 Report: $1.5B Net Profit, Assets Exceed Liabilities by $4.11B
Tether's Q2 financial report reveals impressive figures, indicating a strong quarter for the company. As of June 30, the issuance of USDT reached approximately $184.6 billion, a rise of about $446 million from the end of Q1, with market share rising to over 60%. This growth in market share suggests that Tether remains a dominant player in the digital token space.
The net operating profit for the second quarter was approximately $1.5 billion, primarily derived from U.S. Treasury bonds and repurchase agreements. At the end of the quarter, total assets were approximately $187.751 billion, with total liabilities around $183.642 billion, of which liabilities related to issued digital tokens were about $183.622 billion.
This resulted in assets exceeding liabilities by approximately $4.11 billion. Tether reduced its secured loan exposure by about $2.38 billion, a decrease of 15%, and increased its holdings of physical gold by 14 tons, bringing its total gold holdings to over 146 tons.
CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that despite fluctuations in the gold and Bitcoin markets, USDT continues to be fully backed, and the company is advancing the audit process with the Big Four accounting firms. This assurance should provide comfort to Tether's users and investors.
