Tether Rakes in $1.5B Q2 Earnings as USDT Circulation Hits $184.6B
Tether's quarterly earnings soared to $1.5 billion as its flagship stablecoin USDT reached a circulation value of nearly $184.6 billion in Q2. The company attributed the majority of its income to U.S. Treasury holdings and repo transactions, which generated consistent returns despite market volatility.
USDT maintained over 60% market share within the global stablecoin ecosystem, with total outstanding supply growing by approximately $446 million from March through June 2023. This expansion reinforced USDT's dominant standing in the stablecoin marketplace.
Tether onboarded over 30 million new users during this timeframe, fueling USDT adoption among commercial entities, cryptocurrency exchanges, and retail participants across multiple jurisdictions. The organization continued promoting the token as a transaction and store-of-value solution in emerging economies with constrained traditional banking infrastructure.
