Tether has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) to explore tokenized securities and blockchain-based market infrastructure.

The MOU outlines plans to develop blockchain-based systems, provide digital asset education, and tokenize real-world assets using Tether's Hadron platform.

The parties will also assess instant settlement mechanisms and consider using USDT as a digital settlement layer where permitted by Kenyan regulations.

This agreement comes amid growing interest in tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), with their onchain value reaching $36.8 billion, excluding stablecoins, according to RWA.xyz.
