Tether Surpasses Liabilities with $6.814 Billion Reserve Surplus
Tether has taken a significant step towards increased transparency after completing its first full independent financial audit for 2025. Conducted by KPMG U.S., the audit issued an unqualified opinion confirming the accuracy of Tether's financial statements under U.S. accounting standards.
The audit examined Tether's balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, and reserves, including a physical inspection of gold bars. The results showed that Tether's reserves exceeded its liabilities by $6.814 billion at the end of 2025.
This milestone addresses long-standing concerns about the transparency and composition of the reserves backing the USDT stablecoin.
