Tether Teams Up with Nairobi Securities Exchange on Digital Assets

Share

Tether has made a significant move in Africa by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE). The deal, inked on July 28, aims to explore digital asset education, tokenization of securities, and blockchain-based market infrastructure across Africa.

The MoU outlines several areas of collaboration, including the creation of a blockchain-based market infrastructure for tokenizing securities. This would turn traditional stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments into digital tokens that live on a blockchain, enabling instant settlements through Distributed Ledger Technology.

Tether's Hadron platform will also be explored for fractional ownership, targeting both local investors and Kenya's massive diaspora population. The partnership emphasizes education, with plans to integrate programs to build blockchain literacy, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure data protection standards are met.
