Tether Unveils $400M Private Credit Fund with Fasanara, Targets $3B Institutional Capital
Tether, the company behind the widely-used USDT stablecoin, has launched a $400 million private credit fund in partnership with Fasanara Capital. The initiative aims to target $3 billion in institutional capital across over 60 countries, leveraging Tether's infrastructure to facilitate cross-border lending.
The new fund, called StableFund, is an evergreen private credit vehicle that will finance businesses and consumers through fintech lenders operating globally. Fasanara will manage the investment vehicle, while Tether will provide its USDT infrastructure to enable seamless movement of capital across jurisdictions.
This move represents another step in Tether's expansion beyond stablecoin issuance, as it seeks to apply its liquidity, payments infrastructure, and digital-dollar network to conventional financial activity. The global private credit markets are expected to reach $5 trillion by 2029, with a significant financing gap for small and medium-sized businesses globally.
