Tether Unveils Dual-Blockchain Strategy to Reduce Fees and Boost Control
Tether, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin USDT, is pursuing a dual-blockchain strategy to reduce its dependence on third-party networks and reclaim billions of dollars in transaction-related fees.
The initiative centers on two separate blockchain projects: Plasma and Stable, each designed to strengthen the USDT ecosystem while addressing different market segments.
The company is backing these dedicated USDT blockchain networks in an effort to reduce the estimated $2.9 billion in annual transaction fees paid to external blockchains like Ethereum and Tron.
