Tether Unveils Enhanced Transparency Amid KPMG Audit
Tether's Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino has spoken out about the recent audit of the company's Bitcoin reserves, conducted by KPMG US. The audit process was a long time coming, having been delayed for years due to various controversies.
Ardoino discussed how Tether is now pairing yearly audits with quarterly attestations, providing increased transparency and accountability for the stablecoin issuer. He also touched on the 2022 seven-billion redemption stress test, which tested the company's ability to meet demand during times of crisis.
Tether has also made efforts to increase transparency around its physical gold bar holdings, allowing users to verify the reserve amounts. Additionally, Ardoino revealed that Tether now holds substantial positions in Bitcoin alongside excess equity worth $6 billion.
