Tether Unveils Self-Custodial Wallet with Direct Access to USDT and Bitcoin
Tether has launched its self-custodial wallet, tether.wallet, which gives users direct access to Tether's payments infrastructure. The wallet supports four assets: USDT and USAT for digital dollars, XAUT for tokenized gold, and Bitcoin.
The app is designed to make digital asset transfers as easy as sending a message. It runs on multiple networks, including Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, and the Lightning Network.
Transactions are signed locally on the user's device, with private keys remaining fully under user control at all times. This eliminates the need for intermediaries and third-party custodians.
