Tether's Compliant Stablecoin USAT Soars, Contrasting with Main USDT
Tether's US-regulated stablecoin USAT has made significant gains since its launch in January 2026, growing from $22 million in March to a whopping $140.8 million by April. This marks an impressive increase of 540% in just one month.
Despite this rapid growth, USAT remains a small fraction of Tether's main offshore stablecoin USDT, which saw a contraction of about $6 billion from May to July.
USAT is issued by Anchorage Digital Bank under strict federal regulations and has Deloitte-audited reserves. This level of compliance sets it apart from USDT, whose attestations are less rigorous.
The growth of USAT can be attributed to its appeal as a compliant option or hedge amid tightening US stablecoin regulations.
