Tether's Profit Soars to $1.5B Amid Stablecoin Market Slowdown
Tether's Q2 2026 financials show a significant boost in profit and reserve growth, despite a slowdown in the stablecoin market. The company reported $1.5 billion in net operating profit for the quarter, with its USDT supply continuing to expand.
The total circulation of USDT reached approximately $184.6 billion as of June 30, with an increase of roughly $446 million from the previous quarter. This growth pushed USDT's market share above 60%, despite a decline in overall stablecoin market capitalization during the same period.
Tether's reserve portfolio remains focused on short-duration, high-quality liquid assets, including U.S. Treasuries and repo agreements, which drove approximately $1.5 billion in quarterly operating profit. The company added 14 tons of physical gold to its holdings, lifting total gold reserves beyond 146 tons.
