Tether's USDT Generates $1.3B in Q2 Profits Amid Rising Reserves
Tether's USDT continues to rake in massive profits. In the second quarter of 2026, Tether earned $1.3 billion in net operating profit.
This brings its excess reserves to a whopping $5.2 billion. A significant portion of these reserves are held in highly liquid U.S. Treasury bonds, which continue to generate interest for Tether.
The stablecoin's success is not dependent on market fluctuations or token prices. Instead, it's driven by the assets backing USDT, including U.S. Treasury bonds that benefit from high interest rates in the United States.
