Tether's USDT Set to Fuel Global Credit Expansion
Tether, a leading stablecoin issuer, has partnered with Fasanara Capital to launch StableFund, a private credit fund that will use USDT for cross-border lending. The firms are committing $400 million to the fund and plan to raise as much as $3 billion from institutional investors.
The fund will provide financing across global markets while using USDT to move capital between countries. Fasanara Capital will manage the fund, providing short-term, asset-backed loans through fintech platforms in over 60 countries.
Tether's Chief Executive Officer Paolo Ardoino stated that the fund will use the company's USDT infrastructure to support cross-border lending. The firm aims to target small businesses and consumers who struggle to access traditional financing.
