Teucrium's 19th Delay: Why the Short XRP ETF Remains in Limbo
The Teucrium 2x Short Daily XRP ETF has been delayed for the 19th time, with its latest effective date set to October 11, 2026. The fund is designed to deliver twice the inverse of XRP's daily performance, but it remains unclear why Teucrium has repeatedly postponed its launch.
The delay is unusual in a market where leveraged bullish XRP products are already trading. The Teucrium 2x Long Daily XRP ETF, XXRP, is actively traded and closed at $30.96 on September 11 with nearly 796,000 shares changing hands.
Despite the delay, XRP has become increasingly established in U.S. investment products, with recent inflows of $14.38 million into spot XRP ETFs on September 1. Institutional ownership has also grown, with major disclosed holders including Goldman Sachs, Jane Street, and Millennium Management.
