Teucrium's Short XRP ETF Delayed Again: October 11, 2026 New Launch Date
The Teucrium 2x Short Daily XRP ETF has been delayed for what is now its 19th time. According to a filing dated September 11, the earliest possible start date has moved from an unspecified future date to October 11, 2026. This fund was designed to pay investors when the price of XRP falls.
The mirror image of this fund, which pays when XRP rises, has been trading since April 2025. The Teucrium company chose each delay itself, with no regulator blocking the launch. The first postponement occurred four days before the 2x long XRP fund began trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
The product would never sell any XRP and instead use contracts with trading firms to pay out when the price drops. It's designed to move twice as much as XRP does each day, in the opposite direction. Meanwhile, ordinary funds that simply hold XRP have taken in $190.5 million over their past 20 trading days, with cumulative inflows since launch now standing at $1.70 billion.
