Texas Land Rush: Galaxy Digital and MARA Holdings Build Out AI and Crypto Infrastructure
Galaxy Digital and MARA Holdings are expanding their infrastructure in Texas to support artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and Bitcoin mining. Galaxy Digital has acquired a 500-acre site in McGregor, Texas, where it plans to build an AI and HPC data center campus with an initial capacity of 74 megawatts of power.
MARA Holdings has signed an agreement to acquire a 1,200-acre site in Matagorda County, Texas, which can support up to 2 gigawatts of power capacity. The company plans to develop the site for AI and HPC workloads as well as Bitcoin mining.
Texas has emerged as a key hub for data center and digital-asset infrastructure companies due to its vast power market, relatively low electricity costs, and independent ERCOT grid.
