Thai Rice Exporter Streamlines Cross-Border Payments with NOWPayments
Siam Rice Export, a rice exporter in Thailand, has simplified its cross-border trade payments by integrating NOWPayments and offering stablecoin payments alongside traditional methods. The company sought to streamline international transactions for buyers experiencing delays through traditional banking channels.
By allowing buyers to pay with the digital assets they already own, Siam Rice Export received USDT TRC20 via auto-conversion, reducing settlement time from weeks to minutes in many cases. This integration did not alter their established commercial and accounting workflows.
The company's challenge was not finding buyers but assisting them in making international payments, which often involved restricted access to foreign currency, capital controls, and old-fashioned banking methodologies. NOWPayments' non-custodial integration option provided Siam Rice Export with direct control over funds, retaining 100% control over collected funds.
The implementation took less than a day for API integration, but adapting internal processes took several weeks. The company's results showed measurable improvements in payment processing and daily operations, including reduced intermediary banking fees and same-day booking confirmations.
