Thai SEC Seeks Public Feedback on Crypto ETF Rules
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Thailand has opened a public consultation on proposed rules for cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The aim is to expand investment choices, strengthen local market participation, and promote greater product diversity in the capital market.
The current rules permit Thai mutual and private funds to invest only in overseas crypto ETFs. However, the new proposal would allow them to invest in locally established crypto ETFs as well.
The SEC is seeking public comment on the proposed rules until September 8th, 2026. The consultation is open to all interested parties, including investors, fund managers, and other stakeholders.
