Thailand Proposes Daily Stablecoin Transfer Limit of 5 Million Baht
Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed a daily limit of 5 million baht for each direction of qualifying stablecoin movements processed by licensed digital asset operators.
The consultation aims to prevent regulated digital asset businesses from becoming conduits for laundering criminal proceeds, financial fraud, or concealed international value transfers.
Under the proposed framework, tokens deposited into a customer's account with a licensed operator would have to originate from an account or wallet belonging to that customer. Withdrawals would similarly have to reach an account or wallet verified as the property of the same person.
