Thailand Proposes Retail Access to Select Overseas Crypto Derivatives
Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has introduced a proposal to permit financial intermediaries in the country to facilitate retail investor access to select digital asset derivatives traded on foreign exchanges.
The proposed conditions for foreign crypto derivatives require that they closely resemble the products already available in Thailand, including the underlying asset, contract maturity, leverage limits, and settlement methods.
Additionally, the proposal specifies that these products must be listed on overseas exchanges with a central counterparty for clearing and supervised by regulatory authorities that are members of certain designated international regulatory organizations.
