THORChain Unveils Upgrade Allowing Native Monero and Zcash Swaps
Decentralized exchange THORChain has launched an upgrade to its protocol, dubbed THORChain 3.20, which introduces native support for Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC) swaps with Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and stablecoins.
The upgrade allows users to swap these assets directly through THORChain without relying on centralized exchanges or custodial services, making it a more direct route between privacy-focused cryptocurrencies and the broader crypto market.
This is particularly significant for Monero holders, who have seen their asset removed or restricted by centralized exchanges in recent times.
THORChain 3.20 also introduces several other changes to the protocol, including Protocol-Owned Liquidity (POL) and the new Stable Reserve, which enables stablecoin-to-stablecoin swaps with no liquidity fees.
