Thredd Powers Cashi's Stablecoin Card Program in Asia and Latin America

Share

Thredd has partnered with Cashi to launch a stablecoin card program in Hong Kong and Mexico. The program allows users to make everyday purchases using digital assets, which are converted into local currencies at the point of sale.

The partnership comes as consumer demand for cryptocurrencies and stablecoins grows, with 42% of stablecoin holders wanting to use them for major purchases. Thredd's platform provides a foundation for Cashi to expand its offerings across multiple markets.

Cashi's founder and CEO, Esther Wong, said the company aims to make digital dollars feel intuitive and useful like regular money. The partnership will issue virtual Visa cards and support Google Pay in Hong Kong, with physical cards and Apple Pay coming to Mexico later this year.
